I am using direct access to a btrieve database. While linking tables, I'm getting link error: "Invalid file link. Not consecutive index fields." I don't see what's the problem?

Thanks,
T.

When connecting to btrieve databases using the .ddfs, the "to" field muist be indexed, and if there is a multiple field index, all of those fields must be linked to.

If you have the option, use the pervasive ODBC Drivers and connect with ODBC rather than thru file.ddf. Your linking limitations, as well as several other limitations, go away under ODBC. Software Training and Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine
