I'm trying to link to a csv table that includes a date field formatted as dd mmm yy (20 Jan 05). Using the wizard, I've tried the advanced option that the dates are saved as dmy & a 2 digit date, but I always get a #num in the date field when I look at the table.

If I link it & leave it as text, then I get the correct values, but they aren't very easy to deal with (ie - looking for dates that fall in to a range).

Unfortunately, I have no control on the format of the csv file.

Any ideas?
Thanks,
Connie

Import the csv in a temporary table and the play with the DateValue function to populate the real table.

Hope This Helps, PH.

Thanks! I checked on Microsoft's website & you cannot import a medium date format. They suggest import the date as text, then modify the imported table and change it to a medium date. That works fine!
