Hello.

I have an intranet application that utilizes Windows Authentication. Users do not have a problem accessing the site but some users cannot "click" my link buttons.

I have merely dragged a link button onto a form that a user clicks to display a PDF. MOst users have no problem but there are a handful that do.

Since its an intranet application I can dictate the browser being used. We support IE only. Most users are using IE 6.0.

I am thinking that some feature of the browser is disabled or preventing the link button's click to work.

Has anyone encountered this before and if so do you have a solution?

Thanks

JIm

It could be anything. A few possibilities that spring to mind might be that they may have javascript disabled, have a problem with their browser or your code might not be working correctly.

I encountered a problem with PDF's & IE 6. This is a documented error. If the PDF is passed to the browser inline (browswer open the PDF for display without user prompt) IE 6/Adobe Reader cannot display the report.

If the PDF is passed as an attachment (user is prompted to open, save, cancel) then IE 6/Adobe Reader can view the report. This opens the PDF in an instance of Reader seperate from the browser.

If the user has Adober Acrobat and IE 6 then they can view the the PDF without any problems.

If the user has IE 7 then the user can view the PDF without any problems.

Our solution was to upgrade the user's browser to IE 7.
