link bars and photogalleries disappeared

Help !! All of my link bars and photogalleries have disappeared off of my published web site.

When I go into front page either the published or my local site they are there. I added keywords to the published site on Friday could that have done something to them.

I figured out how to get them back (delete the published file and republish it, but can anyone tell me why it did this ?
