Hello again:
I want to link another site to my origingal site (done with FP 2000-has FP theme and shared borders). This other site wasn't done in FP. It was created using HTML and JavaScript. I tried to do this one as a subweb as well. The sites link great but I lost some part of my shared borders in my original site! The site is screwed up...
What do I need to do? Do I need to do this not as a subweb?
Thanks again for any help...

Hi 0211,

To clarify, are you trying to include this site as a subweb or just link to it. Not exactly sure what you mean by link.

If it is included within your primary web as a subweb, it should have no effect on your shared borders as far as I know. Subwebs have there own borders and themes if used and should not effect the primary web.

If it is a small web, you might try reproducing the pages in FP by creating a new web while the original is open and check " Add to current web".

If on the other hand, this is a published web, you could simply link to it via same or new window.

Another option might be to add an iFrame and show the pages there.

Hope I have been of some help,
Micheal Smith

Hi Michael:
Thanks again for replying to my question. This site is not published online (it used to be but it is inactive now) but I still need to go from my original FP site to this site with hyperlink (that what I had in mind). I did this:
"First, open your FrontPage website. Click File, Import. When the Import dialog opens, choose Add Folder, Pick your folder which includes the non-FrontPage website and click OK. FrontPage converts that folder into a website. This makes this folder a subweb." Then I just hyperlinked the original site through Hyperlink Properties to the 2nd site. The site is looking great but my original site lost it's banner and some of the shared border.
Do I need to reapply the borders and themes again or what?
Thanks so much.
Morgan

Hey 0211,

You may need to reapply them.

I think I would first maybe reset or reinstall the extensions and republish. Just a hunch.

I would avoid the Import function. I have heard a lot of gripes over the years regarding this route. Of course it is best to open live and download, but that requires a published site, and the extensions.

It might have been simpler to drag and drop the folder into your other web.

Hope I have been of some help,
Micheal Smith
