We had a power outage and now the lines will not automatically forward to our voice mail system. If the receptionist answers the phone she can transfer a call into voice mail just fine. I have checked in the system and all six lines are set up to answer after five rings, but still the voice mail does not pick it up.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Try reseting the voicemail and phone system.

Shut off power to both. Wait 10 seconds or so. Power up phone system and then voicemail. Wait a few minutes then test.

Is your Feature 982 (password operator) set to answer lines: Y??

In how many rings does it actually pick up? Does it answer with the Auto Attendant message you recorded? MRoberts

I did reset the the phone system and voice mail and still nothing. I then went in and checked again the Feature 982 (password operator) and all of the lines are set to answer lines: Y

It we dont pick up the phones they will ring forever

it may sound weird however have you tried to reprogram the vms not to answer and then set it back to answer? “Reserve your right to think, for even to think wrongly is better than not to think at all”
