Lines of type missing when printing from 6.5

Randomly, when I print out a document from Pagemaker 6.5 to my HP5550, lines of type are skipped within the paragraphs, and a blank space is left. I have been using the HP printer for about three months with no problems until recently.
It also deletes type from some emails when I attempt to print them out.
HELP!!!
