Hello,
Is it possible to have lines appear on a KIM module or CAP module? A potential customer wants a MICS with 4 trunk modules. The reason they want 4 trunk mods is they may go up to 56 lines. Each line will be assigned to one extension. Each extension is being treated as it's own business for the person at the extension.

They will have a reception or receptionist that they want the lines to appear and ring at their sets also on a the KIM or CAP so they can answer also. They are not starting out at 56 lines, I believe they are starting at 29.Can the lines be assigned or feature *81ed to the KIM or CAP and still ring.
Dmac,

I think there are limitations but cant recall......I would suggest with that amount of lines assigning 6 or 7 intercom keys on the main set and have all lines RING ONLY on that main set then have the usual appearance's of the sets on the KIM's and not the lines, lines will ring on Intercoms keys and show on display what line it is and you will still see who is on the phone on the KIM's.

i have had 48 channels from t1's on 2 different cap modules ..i would think it hasnt changed....make sure you assign the kim to the ext and assign lines to set ...then i think you will have to do the feature code to move a line to move them to the kim

I think the restrictions were when you had multiple CAPS, I seem to remember a customer that had about 6 different CAPS set up (I don't remember the exact number) and there was a limitation on the amount of lines they could have on them. These were analog lines and on older software, so I'm not sure of the KIMs.

The Feature is "feature 81 to move the lines I think to the KLM

Yes you can have lines assigned to a KIM, but you must first assign each phone that will have the lines to be a CAP(central answering position) I believe you can only have a maximum of 6 CAPS on a system, when you go into CAP assignment you will see the limitations of the caps and should max out at about 6 sets. You can assign private lines to every set on the system and in line programming can assign each line a prime set. I hope this helps.

EKIM (Enhanced KIM - for use as a CAP) - 12 positions per system, 4 EKIMs per position (per T7316E) for a total of 48x24=1152 line appearances
OKIM (Ordinary KIM - for use as a BLF or DSS) - unlimited positions per system, 4 per set or 9 with a power supply
Both scenarios require 6.1 software to function
