Hi, I'm new to this forum and fairly new to Indesign.

I have a problem in that when I export an Indesign brochure to a PDF I get these weird lines in the background of the PDF. Is there any way to make this not happen?

Thanks,
Dave

If you are using transparency, you are probably seeing 'stitching', which is not really a bug. A search of this forum will reveal plenty of discussion on this topic - - with options for resolution.

Thanks, I did figure out a way to get rid of them by editing my prefernce options. The problem now becomes that when I e-mail the file to someone else, the lines appear upon their opening.

Try exporting to the Press quality setting. Whne you have the export window open take a look at Advanced and make sure that High is listed under tranparency flatten (should be under Press). See if you still get the lines.

Using OSX 10.3.9 on a G4

Okay, thanks for the suggestions. I played around with my transparency and was able to solve the issue.
