What I am trying to do is create a lined background on a poster so that there is places for people to sign. I am using Corel Draw 12. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

One way would be to use the graph paper tool, its on one of the tool flyouts - set the properties to 1 cell wide and however many rows you want then drag it over the area you want the lines, and the order it to the back (shift+Pg Dn), this would give you simple lines. You could maybe shade alternate rows to give a nice look, you would need to ungroup the object first though (ctrl+U) and then regroup (ctrl+G) it once your done so you can move it around. Hope that helps.
