Is there any way at all (hardware/software) to be on the Internet with a dial-up connection, and be on the phone (using same phone line) at the same time??

Also, I have a bunch of LAN cards, a Wireless LAN card but I want to find some way of using them for fast Internet access ... i have dsl but it goes down from now and then .. I'm trying to create a reliable backup connection for Internet access .. (i'd like to be able to use the phone line also however ..

There are a select few Modems-v90-v92(I believe) that have the MOH(Modem On Hold) capabilities. As long as you have call waiting thru your phone company.
As Seen On TV!!! had a gizmo that connected between your modem and 'it', cost was about $30.00, but can't remember the name of it.
Let me do some more checking, as I seem to remember a software that acted as a Call Center for your modem.

Thanks for your reply compgirlfhredi. i got the Catch-a-call (CallWave) device ($30). I was trying to find though if outgoing calls were possible with any of these Internet "On-Hold" devices or programs. I haven't figured out a way to do that (when using dialup connection). Well - I've got a stable DSL Service now - so i don't have to worry about that anymore - but still curious if there's anything like that out there.
