I'm looking for a way to provide access for 2 phone lines to one modem. I have a customer that needs an alternate line into their PBX RMATS modem in case the first goes down (long story, part of a DR plan). Anyone out there done this? I've looked at Viking and Black Box to see if they have anything that would do this, so far no luck.

tt systems used to make a device that would let one single line device access two lines

we used to use them for small customers that wanted two lines answred by one answering machine.

I dont have time right now to search for it but try google for tt systems

might also try radio shack

You might try a line splitter similar to this one sold at Radio Shack. It might not work but if it doesn't, you're only out $6.00 (US).

The problem is the modem makes outgoing calls as well, that would be a mess. I found what I needed, made by a company called Skutch. Thanks for the reply tho!

I used this from sandman

answermachine switch. What ever line was ringing would go to the out port that can be plugged into the modem and for the modem to dial out the line is selectable via a switch.

ATT made an automatic two-line switchbox. I think I still have one at home, I'll see if I can find a model number.
