I have two lines on a UCX using M series sets. I would like to be able to select which line to call out on at will. I know I can set it up to use a certain line based on call groups or routes. Is there a way to select line one or line two for no other reason then "because I want to"?

Hi Mountainbear: You could set up a dialing prefix in your outbound routing. For example, I have four lines for users, and then two lines that are reserved for voice mail access and system outdialing. I have a dialing prefix for the two outdialing / voice mail lines so when the system needs one, it dials the prefix, and all the calls go out on that specific line. You could set up a prefix code for each of your lines, and when you enter it in, it will force the system to send the call out on the trunk that matches the dialing prefix on the outbound route. Hope this helps a little!

Thank you, that makes sense. So if I understand the prefix would act something like an access code? I will try it this week.
