I would like to setup a couple of our extensions to have a direct number

for example i want line number 5 to only ring at extenion 19

is there an easy way to do this?

Thanks for your help.

Line Coverage Extension (procedure #208)identifies an extension as the owner of a specific outside line(s) so the extension can activate Call Coverage or VMS Cover for that line, so you must have a voice messaging system.

Line Assignment (procedure #301)assigns individual lines to extensions. The easiest thing would be to use this to take the other lines off the extension you want to have that one line; otherwise, you have to unassign that line from the other extensions.

If you want to have the line on other extensions but not to ring, you can program no ring on a per line per extension basis.

Hi evilphish,
If you want a direct line to one extension, use line assign (#206 option 3) to assign the lines to the vm. In the voicemail, assign line ownership and specify the extension for each of those lines. The attendant will not answer those lines, but rather the personal greeting for the extension will be heard. Only assign the line to the extension using proceedure (#301) unless you want the line to appear on other extensions. You can either delay the ring or have the line not ring. The vm coverage can be delayed if you have an ACS. R3 or later can delay for individual extensions (#321). Make sure you extend the transfer return rings to one more than you max. vm cover rings.
