Line Ringing on multiple phone

Our PBX guys is out for a while. We badly need the phone in the computer room (which has its own number) to also ring when the number of the help desk is called.

We have another phone setup this way and when I query the button for that line, I cleary see "ANSWER HDESK". But I don't know how to copy this on another phone.

is this a pbx? if its a MICS or a CICS you can do a copy from and to in programming. Jeter@LasVegas.com

You will need to program an "Answer DN" on the phone you wish to ring when the help desk phone rings.

In the programming, at "Terminals & Sets", press SHOW.
Enter the Extension number you wish to ring with the HDESK phone.
You should see "Line access" , Press SHOW
You should see "Line Assignment"
Press NEXT until you see "Answer DNs"
Press SHOW
You will need to "assign" the extension number of the HDESK phone.

Sorry I called it a PBX. I'm not all down with the lingo yet.

Thanks for your answer norstarpro. It gave me a good idea. I must be been in the wrong programming or something because I cannot find "Line Assignement" or "Line Access". So I never get to "Answer DNs".

After entering programming mode:

from Terminal&Sets
press "show"
enter the line of the target phone

Then I get a menu with:

+ Capabilities
- Fwd no answer - Page Zone
- Fwd on busy - Paging
- DND on busy - D-Dial
- Hands Free - Priority Call
- HF Answerback - Hot Line
- Pickup group - Aux Ringer
...
+ Name:
+ User Preferences
+ Restrictions
+ Telco Features

I browsed all over and did not find the right option.

Is there a "menu" map of some kind available somewhere?

Try going in using config programming. Feature **config and password config. In there you will see Configuration. Show that and go next and you will get Line Access. Show that and enter the ext. you`re trying to add the Hdesk ringing to. Line Assignment should come up, so go next until you get to Answer DN. Show that and enter the HDesk DN and that should be it.

Sorry, I thought you had a different version. So just go in with the config password and follow norstarpro`s steps. You will once again get terminals and sets, but with the options you need.

I was using the wrong password to get "Full access". Now I got it and the first thing I get is "Line Access".
