line proto up - down

Hello, I started buying lab equiptment a little bit ago and now have a 2610 with a wic 2t card (smart serial) and a 2501. My question is I just bought a crossover cable set with the smart serial being dte and 2501 db60 serial being dce. The basic config is
2610
s1
ip address 10.1.1.1 255.0.0.0
no shut
clockrate 64000

2501
s0
ip address 10.1.1.2 255.0.0.0
no shut

I havent messed with encaps yet so its still default. When I do a no shut the int's come up and then line proto comes up but it goes down after about 5 min. I can t6hen go back to the int and do a no shut and bring it back but it continues to go down. I havent really dug into this yet just got the cables yesterday. but I thought I'd ask to see if it is a simple fix. thanks

It might have been a typo, but the DCE is supposed to set the clockrate, and from you have above, that means the 2501 whould set the clockrate, not the 2610. Let me know if it was a typo?

Sorry about that yeah it was the other way around Is it possible the cables are mislabled? Didnt think of that. When I go home I'll try opposites. Thanks
