Hello,
I installed a 3x8 system for a friend. When you call line 2 and pick up the call it will immediately flash the Line 2 in the display and shows the transfer function over the soft key and the will hangup the call about one second later. The other two line ports work fine. Is this a line port failure or could it be something in programming that will cause this? Thanks for the help.
Dmac,

Check to see if the alarm is hooked up to line 2. If so move it to a different line or temperarly disconnect it.

daveybc,
I don't think they have an alarm. But no absolutly sure if they do have one. I'll have to go back to the site and check.
Thanks for the help.
Damc,

Put CO line 1 into line 2 and see if same problem to see if its CO problem or KSU.
Also try copy programming from line 1 to line 2.
Last option to do is a system start up(you will loose all programming). Unplug KSU, plug back in and press Feat**startup, reset mem say yes. This will clear any bugs if it is a bug.

Hello,
I tried a system restart and it didn't change anything. I have to go back and try the other line swap you mentioned.
Thanks for the help.

DMac,
If problem persisits, try 'unsupervising' the line. I had a similar problem today. Dial tone was there for a very short time on butt set and then disapeared. Turned out to be a poorly seated 66 block jumper clip.

As Curly mentioned, swapping lines is probably the first way to troubleshoot the problem. I posted earlier I have seen alarm systems that used one of the overlines, do a similar thing and other problems.Make sure the line is terminated directly into the system from the CO. Hopfully you don't have to replace the 3X8 KSU:eek:
