LINE NOT DISCONNECTING

Hi There

I have a norstar CICS with 8 lines.. WHen you call into any of those lines and go to voice mail and the person hangs up, The line stays engaged, leaves a busy signal on voice mail, and eventually disconnects. The lines are set to SUPERVISED, but I can't think of anything else to try.. Any suggestions?

Pull the cross connect, then put it back. Breaking the connection works alot of the times.
 
Find out from your line provider if the lines are on copper from the C.O. or fibre. Hell Canada tells me that they cannot send disconnect supervision (what they call COD [cutoff on disconnect]) on fibre lines. Had to get them to find copper pairs from the C.O. for my customer then workeds OK.
 
clip a butt set on and listen to the line after the caller has hung up. If you have disconect supervision or Calling Party Control from the phone Company you will hear a click a few seconds after the distant end has hung up. you should have the local end on hold instead of in Vmail.

to keep confusion out of what you are hearing turn the "on hold" to silence instead of music or tones.
