I am not certain but doesn't the line interface module let you hook up an analog telephone to the phone on the back of the 5220 IP dual mode phone? Because that was my intention for buying it. I have a 4025 Digital with the SIM in the back to hook up an analog line and was wondering if this does the same thing. My intention is to get the teleworker solution and use the 5220 at my hosue and then be able to make another extention off the LIM and hook it up to a analog phone. I hope this will work does anyone else know?

STATS:
SX-200 ICP v2.2 w/ teleworker latest version
5220ip Dual w/ line interface mod

I have never had the opportunity to install one, but I am fairly confident that the LIM is use to connect an analog trunk to the IP set, not an analog set. This is so the IP set can make local calls if you are using it for teleworker instead of IP back to the main system then a long distance call for the Teleworker set to call locally.

The LIM will allow you to put a analog trunk on the IP set. It will not allow a "second path way" to the PBX for a analog phone. The LIM is allow the teleworker person to have a single phone on the desk to permit IP (remote) and analog (local) calling. Also, it is not a power fail (i.e. if the power goes out IP calls and the analog trunk are both unavailable.

Is there any device that can do what I described? How come you can do it with a SIM on a digital set but not a IP set?

A SIM uses a "b channel" out of the two (2b+d) in the signalling. IP sets do not use 2b+d, but use "IP" instead. It's a completely different technology (cars to trains).

So there is not Analog Interface Module for IP sets but there is for Digital sets?
