Line hunting

Can a line be made to hunt to another line without using telco to do it? I was told no, but thought they may be a way around it.

The KSU only answers lines and has no control on rollovers.

If you have DID, or DIOD lines it is possible.

If you have a group of Direct Inward Dial (DID) trunks, any DID numbers you have would select an available trunk for incoming calls. The norstar KSU can be programmed to queue or hunt internal extensions from there. It is a long complicated way to accomplish what you are looking for, but it is a way.

comms... do you mean add a DID to a set then add a few Intercom keys to the set?

After all that, the client was explaining the problem wrong to me! The application was if the first line is busy on ext 221 it would roll over to the line two on the same phone. These (I thought were DID) but come to find out there not. So thanks for all the reponses anyway....

Sounds like DND or forward on busy to me. It's always something simple..;-)
