line forward to Unity announcement 1

I have a line/extension, on a couple of phones, forward no anwser/busy to an announcement in Unity (Cisco Unity Connection version: 7.0.2.10000-38).
The call forwards but it just goes to the "generic" unity greeting instead of the announcement I have set up.
If I set up the extension as a mailbox instead of a call handler/announcement it works fine.
Is there a routing setting/rule somewhere that needs to be activated/setup?

does the call handlers extension match the DN of the phone? If not change it to match or create a routing rule to translate it in unity.
 
at first it did not as i had it call forward no anwser/busy to the number of the announcement but when that did not work I changed the call handler/announcement to the extension number on the phone but that did not work either.
 
double check and make sure the phone is forwarded to vm and not another dn.
also double check that the phone DN and CH DN match. Other than that ot should work unless you are masking that DN in call manager with a translation pattern before it hits ucnx
 
That was it, needed the extension/line to forward to VM (checked all VM boxes) not to the extension.
Simple overlook on my part, Thanks very much !!
