I have a Nortel Meridian Phone System, my experience with this system is limited. If anyone could assist me, I would appreciate it.

There is one extension 238, that receives direct calls from Line 8 to Prime on the display.

We narrowed it down to the phone number that that ties into the extension. Is there any way to take this off, or move it to another extension on the system?

Thank you!

What is happening to you is that two settings are interacting on your system. First on line 8 it has set 238 as the primeset. look under Lines->trunk/line data->Primeset:
The prime set is a setting to make sure that calls get answered by someone if the main answering position fails to answer the call by the time the DRT timer expires.

the second set of settings is the DRT to Prime setting under System Programming->Feature settings->DRT to prime: and System Programming-?feature settings->DRT Delay:

these two settings enable the direct ring tone and how long the delay is.

If you don't want the line 8 to go to ext 238 then change the Primeset to another phone or none.

The other settings are global and changing them might effect the way other calls are handled so I don't suggest changing them unless you are SURE that the other lines will not be effected.
