I am trying to create a line - column chart in a report. The data is:
CompanyName MonthlySales YearToDateSalesAllCompanies
company1 $150.00 $1000.00
company2 $750.00 $1000.00
company3 $100.00 $1000.00

The chart would have Dollars on the Y axis and company names on the X axis with the company monthly sales would as bars(columns) and the YTDSales would be a line across the chart. I created what I need in Excel but can't duplicate it in Access.

How far did you get? I find that I must copy the datasheet view of the records from the row source into the datasheet view in the report control. You can select the YearTo... series and change its format to Line.

I have created some charts two ways: 1) MSGraph and 2) Access functions that repeat characters to make bars. Are you trying to use MSGraph? If so, create a query of the data to be graphed, then in Report Design, follow the Insert Chart wizard. It is confusing at times and I could provide further help if needed. A key in using MSGraph is to think of this application as an add-on (like embedded application) - it is not Access and it has its own menus and characteristics.
