...select the line, at the bottom of the tool bar you have fill and stroke color indication, click on the stroke color to activate it (brings it to front). You can also activate the stroke color by way of the color palette, or by pressing the X key to switch between fill/stroke...
...with stroke color active either change the color in the color palette, or select a new swatch color from the swatches palette...
