Hello all,

I am trying to build a line chart where the show value uses a formal that {#MonthTotalCase}/{#Total Positions} two running total field.

When I try to build the chart the formula is not one of the available fields why is that? suggestions to accomplish the same result will be appreciated.

thanks

To paraphrase synapsevampire...you haven't told us what version of crystal you are using... Yes, it does matter.

Anyway moving on, welcome to the Crystal Reports processing model. If you are running crystal V9 or above, crystal uses a 3 pass report processing model to produce a report.

Your formula is dividing a running total by another running total.

This is occurring during the 2nd pass of the report processing model, hence it cannot be graphed/charted.

If you cannot see a field in the graphing/charting tool, it means it is being evaluated too late in the report processing model to be used in a graph/chart.

Actually running totals can be charted on, but the approach does depend upon the version.
