Can you have multiple line appearances of the same station number on a 7960 phone. I am trying to set this up on a 4.0 Call Manager. In the Avaya world you can set up as many as you need. I would like to have three appearances of the same number so I could take two calls and still have the ability to transfer one of them...

I don't think you have to worry about that with CCM. I can take up to 10 (that is what I have my line configured for) from a single line appearance on 7960 phone.

To answer your question, no you cannot. But you don't need to.

Go to the line on the phone in CCMAdmin and scroll down until you get to

Multiple Call / Call Waiting Settings

These control how many calls can come into the phone and what the threshold is for it to consider itself busy. I am pretty sure that in 4.0 and higher the max number of calls a single line can have is 254.

Thanks computerhighguy, I made the change and restarted the phone and it still doesn't work. Do I have to restart CCM???

No problem. You should get what i described. How are you connected to the PSTN? I use a PRI and it have no issue. If you are not using trunks, then the problem may be there.

I am actually connected through a PRI to an Avaya G3r and then the incoming and out going trunk calls go through PRI's out to the PSTN.

computerhighguy,
I found the problem. I was testing this with an IPCommunicator soft phone. I guess that may be an issue as I went to a hard 7960 phone and it worked.

thanks again

Great to here!!
