Line Appearances Ringing When Set to No Ring

I've been working on IPO since 2.0, but rarely work on analog trunks and when I do, I rarely use line appearance keys, but we inherited a customer that was trying to setup one analog trunk to ring one phone. Sounds simple.

I set analog trunk Line 4 to a unique incoming line group = 20. Programmed an ICR with incoming line group 20 with destination X122. Several of the other phones had a Line Appearance for Line 4, so I set them to No Ring.

When I called the number for the analog trunk, I could see in Monitor that it would initially target X122, but then the other phones would immediate start ringing as well.

I've never see DefinityLineAppearance in traces before.

Any ideas?

Straight from the IP Office Manager help:

"If the line appearance user is also the incoming call route destination for the call, the call will alert on their line appearance only. In this case:
[ul]
[li]...[/li]
[li]The ring delay used is that of the first free call appearance.[/li]
[/ul] "

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

The other phones are not audibly ringing, just visually alerting on line 4. You will also need to enable delayed ringing preference on those users to prevent them from accidentally answering the call if they go off hook while it is alerting.

Sorry, should have read more thoroughly, its the other 4 who are ringing, not the ICR target of the call - so no clue.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Give the Individual Analog line a separate incoming group ID to all the others & then use ICR as normal.

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

That one is your FAQ and the clearly better one

Why someone created another FAQ with the identical name to yours is beyond me...

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.
