line active incoming call tone

I have one 2008 set that gives the single tone incoming call alert at least 4 times louder than other sets. set based volume has no effect, nor does changing the set out with another. is there a volume option in an 81C relative to TN?!
And for those who helped sort out my last issue, many thanks.

Does the 2008 have a display? If so, you can scroll to the volume option for that tone. If not, the volume control only works for the active state, so you would need to create that call again, then turn the volume down as the tone is being played. You might need to do this a few times to get it to an acceptable level.

Also keep in mind, any time you disconnect the phone, all the volume levels reset.

tried that and tried it with other sets as well. No dice. That's why I'm wondering if there's another option buried away somewhere.

no vol in the software.. if it's a non display, go to a dispay set press the program key, record the keystrokes needed to adjust the vol on that ring.. fitd in class changes that to a single tone

yyyyep! Single tone. I guess I should state that yes I am adjusting as it rings.

the vol control only works on the active tone.. ie call line 1 from key 0, adjust it down then, as the tone happens. if it will not adjust, find a trash can for that set..
