Line 2 goes off hook?

TDA 200 with a TVS50 voicemail
CO Trunk #2 goes directly to Custom Service prompt 1

Line 2 and Line 3 are set up the same but Line 2 seems to hang and stay off hook when a caller hangs up during the CS1 greeting. This happens at random times - I can be working and look at the phone and see the line is "in use" or have it be "in use" when I get in in the morning.

Any suggestions as to where to look first?

The TVS is set for FX as the transfer sequence but I changed that from FXD and it made no change.

If it helps we are using VOIP phone lines for line 1 and 2 and the VOIP equipment has been switched out. Only line 2 hangs.

Thanks!

Listen accross line two with a buttset in monitor and see what gives...

Thanks cwc3 -
I'll see if I can reproduce the symptom with buttset attached. It's my home/office system so I don't get too much time to dicker with it. Thanks also for not saying RTFM. <grin>

Problem fixed. Thanks again cwc3.

I had the CS prompt 1 set to repeat twice and if the caller hangs up as the greeting starts, by the time the 2nd greeting ended, the VOIP line had already ended it's "your call has ended" beep beep beeping so the vm hears only dead air.
To make things worse, I had the NO DTMF setting set to repeat the CS1 greeting (I expect people to be smart enough to make a decision)
Not a good idea - it repeated over and over to infinity and beyond.

New settings - CS1 does not repeat and the no DTMF is set to operator - let them leave a message in the general delivery box.

the other thing that struck me was that you had remote notification set up and that can be a huge resource hog....

y'know where if some one leaves a maessage and the tvs
dials out to tell you that some ones called....

Right. I love that option.
But I did not mention using it in any of my posts.
That's what made me go "Wha??
