IS it possible to limit the size of the Arcserve database (I am not using the SQL one). If not when does arcserve clear it out. Otherwise this thing is just gonna get bigger and bigger unfortunately my hard disk does not have the same growing characterstics!

A sad fact of life is that the Arcserve database seems to grow exponentially. One way to keep it down is to ensure that any tapes you use in your system stay associated with it. When erasing tapes use Quick Erase destroy volume info. or re-format them. This drops that tape, and all assocaited information from the database. I'd also suggest pruning for 30 days. It doesn't take long to merge a tape back into the database, and most restores are less than 30 days..

I'm new to arcserve, how do I change the prunning to 30 days

Thanks for the help

Go into Server Admin from start-programs. Click on admin, then configuration. Click the Database tab and modify from there. That's where Database pruning is adjusted from.

Thanks for your help. I have made those changes, It must be a real pain if there isn't much room on your HD.

Thanks again for your help
