Limiting the actions of a user on a certain host.

As said above is there any way of limiting what actions a user can do if logged in on a certain host.
example:-
A computer named 1 is allowed to do anything it likes no matter what user is using it.
However a computer named 2 no matter what user is logged in is not allowed to insert or update.
Is this possible.

Found your newer thread, and now found this one which you referred to.

Access to SQL Server is only controlled by logins, and not by the host machine. Use SQL Profiler (or a server-side profile trace) to monitor a host's activity.
