I am looking for a way to keep a GPO from being applied to machines with a certain software package installed. So far I am only able to target machines with a specific product installed but not the other way around.

Targets with Adobe Acrobat
Code:
Root\cimv2;Select * from Win32_Product where name = "Adobe Acrobat"
<> doesn't work :) I need to target machines without the full version of Acrobat.

Was the full version of Acrobat pushed with a GPO? The way I do it is with groups. GPOs get pushed to an OU (of course), but are filtered to a group. So, when I need to apply something to a group of machines based on applications installed, I can put a DENY on for the other group.

For instance:
We deploy the full Acrobat to some users.
We deploy Reader to all others, putting a DENY on the Reader GPO for the Acrobat group.

Dunno if that helps.

No, it was a manual install. But you your method might be possible for me. I can get a list of machines with the full package, put them into a group and deny it. Worth a try.

Thanks!
