limiting font list

In my job I use both Illustrator, and ArcMap GIS software. ArcMap won't operate unless its huge list of fonts is installed in the system fonts folder. The problem is that all 70 of these useless fonts show up in my Illustrator font list. Is there any way to limit the list of available fonts in Illustrator?
