Limiting Data

Hi

I have the following:-

Two Parameter fields for limiting records shown on the report.
i.e. startamt and finamt

I have limited this on the group by
Sum ({dbsfield}, {group field }) in {? startamt } to {? finamt }
But if I enter the range for example -500 to 0, it returns value which are grater than 0.

Any help will be appreciated
