Hello there,

Hopefully a simple question.

I have a route that I use between my rightfax server and my PBX; route 100, it's setup with 4 trunks. What I need to do is if all 4 ports are busy to give the customer a busy signal; right now the calls are defaulting to my attendant and she obviously doesn't enjoy the fax tone in her ear.

The only way I know of doing this is with a master route but it doesn't appear I can setup a non ISDN master ISA route....

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, I would be interested to see a printout of the trunk TNs.

Here is a printout of one of my Trunks, it's running off a DTI/PRI card.

Are these the only 4 trunks on the T1? I'm a bit perplexed. The PBX doesn't control any type of hunting at the trunk level, only the station level. That is why GHTROUT thought there may be analog TNs tied to the trunks. The Fax Server has to be doing something in the event all 4 trunks are busy. Maybe routing the call to an old fax extension not used anymore?

Does the attendant get any type of display when these calls come in? Maybe the readout on the display will tell us where they are coming from.

Yes, there are only 4 trunks....

I tried busying out my 4 trunks and then called my number pointing to the fax and it went right away to reception; I didn't ask her what she saw on her set; however, she did confirm that she gets many "fax" calls during the course of a day.

I think you should ask the attendant what is on her display when she gets one of these calls.

What we ended up doing to resolve this issue is setting up a second target in our RLB, pointing to a route with a new DMI; within the DMI I instructed it to delete 11 digits and insert 6660 which is a phantom extension that doesn't hunt or forward so it just rings busy...so now when my 4 trunks are busy it goes to 6660 and rings busy, no more attendant.
