Limited characters carried over during TOC generation

I am putting together a fairly advanced TOC template for a series of books that my company publishes. One of the TOC fields being pulled in is a paragraph with multiple lines. There seems to be limited character count that will be placed into the TOC from the paragraph tags that it is pulling the text from.
These fields in my TOC are getting cut off after a certain character count.
Does anyone know of a way to overide this maximum character count and make it bring everything into my TOC without cutting it off?
