I know there is a limitation on how many values are available in say the parameter drop down box for xi (1000) unless you reset the registry keys.

But I have a dw that I am connecting too and I only see so many tables and none of them are the tables I need to work with.

Is there also a regit setting to be changed for how many table one sees in the database expert?

Thanks so much!

I would suspect that it's a permissioning concern.

But I'm curious, how many tables are you talking about?

You should also include technical information, such as your Crystal version, the database, and the connectivity used.

Thanks synapsvampire - sorry I broke the cardinal rule.

Using XI R2. No I have full permissions to see everything. I see all tables in the universe, so I know its not that. And when I use cr against the universe, I see all tables.

I was going directly to the datawarehous with cr instead of going through the universe, and there are over 70,000 tables.

Thanks so much!

What type of database were you going against?

And how do you know that you have permission to all of the tables there? Just because an exposed Universe shows data to you doesn't mean that you have permission to go to all tables in the DW.

I've never hit a 70,000 table data warehouse, and I'm pretty sure I don't want to ;)

Oracle. Because I am using the administrator's login.

Yeah its pretty fun. It's PSFT dw.

Thanks so much!

It certainly sounds like you've hit a limit, which is understandable.

What you might try is to use the File->Options->Database and set the Table Name Like and the Owner Name like to limit the number of tables to a more manageable quantity, it might get around the limit as well.

I doubt that you truly want to browse through 70k tables.

Thanks K,

First time for everything. This isn't the first huge data warehouse I have worked with. But the first time in XI (R2) I have come across the limit on how many tables I can see in the list.

I am sure there has to be a regedit to change, but I dont' want to mess down there if I don't have to.

I will try your suggestion.

Thanks!

Thanks so much!
