Hi,

I am using CR 11R2 on a windows XP machine, data stored on an Oracle 9i database.

I have a report that lists all of the comments made during a call. My officers would like to be able to send these comments by using a simple button push to selected apartment managers. I have manage to write the code by using "mailto" command and formula to insert the email address for individual properties, the subject line as well as most of the body but I ma running into prolem with the character length limitation. It seems that even though in CR, the body can be upto 1650 characters (over that it crashes, I have placed a truncation limit to this), when I export this to Adobe pdf, the body of the message gets truncated to only 941 characters (or 1040 total characters including the mailto and subject etc. tags.)

I will appreciate if anyone knows of how to tweak this setting to increase this pdf limitation to match with the CR limitation.

Thanks

Safa

Is the body of the message truncating or the "MailTo:"? Your subject line says one thing but your description says another.

You could try splitting the body into two or more text objects based on where the carriage returns are located.

A computer only does what you actually told it to do - not what you thought you told it to do.

Thanks hilfy.

below is the code as well as how the body shows in the MS outlook when I click the button in Crystal Report and how it shows when exported to pdf and then click on the email button to send the info. There is definiteley some truncation going on.

The data is actually in multiple lines, I have used an accumulation script to concatenate the comments into a single data stream. That is the reason why the formatting is off.

Code in Crystal Report to create the email “mailto Command” (TOTAL: 1624 characters, body section is 1526 characters starting from “body=” code)-------------
