limit view of folders based on group membership

Trying to migrate from Novell to NT.

we have several folders under a "groups" drive - each folder rights are based on group membership.
We want users to only see the folders for groups they belong to.
This is easy with Novell, but not NT - and i don't want to map a drive for each folder.
any suggestions?
