I want to limit the user that can send mail via a distribution group I created call all-users.

Example management-team group is allowed to send mail to distribution group all-users

but employeex can't send mail to distribution group all-users
how can I accomplish this task?

Also, currently I have to add all user accounts to the distribution group all-users; can I add just the domain users group and will that send mail to anyone in the domain with an email address? I want to avoid having to update this distribution group all-user every time I get a new employee.

Could I use Message restrictions under the Exchange General Tab, then select Only From and add the group account there?

yap.
you can test it...add someone to allow and then send messge with account that is not included. You should get an erros back...if the restriction is on someone 'external' then create a contact that hold that smtp address.
All the best!

thanks lebisol that did work. Do you have an idea for adding everyone to the distribution group without me manually entering their names?

Distribution groups work just as well in the Restrictions list - a convenient way of adding multiple users...

Depending on your configuration of Exchange 2003, you may be able to create "query based distribution groups". To use these, you must be running Exchange 2003 in native mode.

If you have a large number of users, this is not the ideal approach though. It would end up requiring the Exchange server to do a lot of processing each time that group is sent to.
