Limit Records at user level--not layout or field level

Is there a way I can limit the records a particular enduser can view based on their security? I want limit records at the user level not at the layout or field level. Is there a way to do that in Filemaker Pro?

Maybe. Can you explain exactly how you will know which records a particular person can have access to and which he or she can't?
