I have been requested to set up certain users so that they can only send and receive mails to mailboxes in the Global Address List. Can this be done and if so how.

Thanks

Delivery restrictions on the restricted objects is what you need to look at. Depending on the number of people you are talking about you might want to create a distribution list and have that as the "reject messages from" object rather than individual users.

Thanks for your reply, however we need these users to send/receive mail to all in the Global Address List only, but not be able to send/receive mail from anyone outside the Global Address List.

you want to stop your users from using internet to receive and send email, and limit to internal addresses.
you can do this by 2 steps

1. To stop user from receiving internet email, remove their smtp address from their mailbox email adress properties tab.

2. To stop user from sending internet email, go to the internet mail connector and add their address to the delivery restrictions tab, reject from list.

this effectively limits them to internal email only

Hope this helps.
