Hi guy,

I have a PII 233MHz with 2 Hdisk. The IDE devices are so configured :
- Pri Master hd 4Gb with HD
- Sec Master CDROM
- Sec Master hd 20Gb : 8Gb dos and 12Gb RedHat 8.0

When I installed Linux I choosed to install boot loader record on hda MBR, but the /boot filesystem is on the second hd (/dev/hdd?) .
The problem is phereps linked on position of my hd : the 20 GB hd should connect on Pri Slave ?
When reboot the PC , after bios ends, I can read only a "L" and it seems blocked.
Did I have alse currupt the Windows disk ?
How could I repair it (windows 98 don't start )?

Excuse me for my pour English.
Thanks in advance

If you can boot from a Win98 floppy (boot disk)
you can try running the command:
[tt]
fdisk /mbr
[/tt]

This should copy the boot sector from the floppy to the MBR of the active partition
