After DC promo.
I ran Netdiag, all looks good.
I ran dcdiag and here is the first part of the Primary tests. I did not
think it would be proper to post the entire log,

Doing primary tests

Testing server: Default-First-Site\SERVERSSI
Starting test: Replications
[Replications Check,SERVERSSI] A recent replication attempt failed:
From SERVER1 to SERVERSSI
Naming Context:
CN=Schema,CN=Configuration,DC=SchellHogan,DC=local
The replication generated an error (1908):
Could not find the domain controller for this domain.
The failure occurred at 2004-08-18 17:51:42.
The last success occurred at 2004-08-18 16:49:48.
3 failures have occurred since the last success.
Kerberos Error.
A KDC was not found to authenticate the call.
Check that sufficient domain controllers are available.

Hi Scott,
If you were able to join server to domain then your server is configured in proper way regarding DNS. At least for start. Install also DNS service on this member server. Then run dcpromo. After it is completed make sure on your first DC under DNS MMC that it is set to use AD integrated DNS and to use all DCs in your domain.
Then change DNS settings (under TCP/IP settings) on your new DC. DNS settings should point back at server. So under DNS setting enter 127.0.0.1.
Under alternative DNS you can enter IP of your first DC.
Restart NetLogon service to update any DNS records, you can also restart DNS service on both servers. Changes are not immediate -- it usually takes few minutes for changes
to replicate between server.
That would be about it... :)
Mike
