Hi,

Can someone point me in the right direction here...

I have written many Access applications and need to stop the end user simply copying the files and using the databases at another company.

I need some kind of Licensing system but I'm not sure where to start. ???

I solved this with a vb.net application which reads the CPU ID of the computer and requests an activation code via email. I then send them an encrypted code based on the CPU ID of the users computer which the application checks then if the decrypted code matches the CPU ID, the app runs. This works well but I don't think I can implement this in Access.

Any help would be appriciated.

Thanks,

Neil.

You can implement a similar scheme in Access. There are WMI functions for most / all hardware attributes of the processors.

search the various MS Access fora as well as the VB
forum for some starting points.

Also you can search the 'web' for more on the topic.
