Hi all, CS1000 guy looking to learn a little about the Aura product line. I'm trying to build a simplex Aura 6.3 system on ESXi and it's giving me some trouble. I've been told that the system should be functional for 30 days without a license installed, but I'm having problems proving that to be correct. I have installed the .ova template on ESXi, logged in with craft, set up the IP addressing etc. Then I set up a privileged administrator account to use to log in. After doing that, as per the Avaya documentation I'm following I install the auth file and everything seems to go normally. However I can't seem to get a user set up that will allow me read/write access in SAT. Unfortunately this makes the system not very useful for lab work, since extensions can't be created etc. Is there anyone that has done this or can shed some light on what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks,
Anthony

After completing the setup perform a "save trans" and a "reset system 4" this should correct your issue. You will not be able to create stations unless you license the system.

The login account I created seems to have permissions to perform the save translation, but when I try "reset system 4" it's not a recognized command. My options following "reset" are "login-ID" and "ssh-keys". Though if I can't build stations this might just be a futile exercise. Does Avaya have any sort of lab licensing that can be purchased or otherwise obtained? I don't need to be on CM 6.3, and could get one of the older media gateways or S8700 servers. I really only need to be able to get a couple IP sets and a few DCP stations working. I would go the eBay route, but I'm not sure what to look for in hardware, and am unsure if the logins could be recovered.

Thanks,
Anthony

I created lab environment in vm ware unlicenced , everything was open for 30 days , it will be your profile you created that will be the issue it needs to be bp login (dadmin) , from there you will be able to admin the kit for 30 days , with all features unlocked

APSS (SME)
ACSS (SME)
ACIS (UC)

I tried creating both a craft2/custcraft and dadmin account. When either one attempts to login to SAT, it asks to create a new pin. Unfortunately it seems to be impossible to create a pin that will give a response other than "INCORRECT PIN". I've tried making very strong passwords so that's not the issue. I'm assuming this is a similar problem to not being able to create logins with ASG keys due to the missing license?

Thanks,
Anthony
