Hi all,

OK I am going to ask what is probably a very silly question, but I am new to Arcserve, and come from a Backup Exec background, and getting used to the new way to work is a bit of a shock!!! :)

The problem I have is one the exchange server, I have installed the exchange agent, so the PDC can backup all the mail boxes and public folders etc. I have setup the user "dbagent" with the full rights, so I have full access past the "brick" level, and can see the mail boxes.

And it all installed fine, the backup works fine apart from the agent fails as it not registered. Now when I installed it, it did not ask for any registration number, (which i do have).

So what do I run to register the agent, and do I run it on the PDC or on the exchange server???

TIA

Paul

Whereever arcServe is installed the components (Client, server, db agents) need to be registered with CA. To do that, use the CA Registration program - Register IT. This should have been installed along with ArcServe in a separate directory.

Thanks Gisac,

Yeah I found that just after I posted this!! Its more or less up and running noe just waiting on a file from CA, so I can register this software.... But what a lot of work, just to get software running!!!
