Over the past day or so, I've been looking into possible solutions for our ever growing number of extensions and locations. I just want to confirm my understanding of what is needed to successfully deploy Avaya's Softphone.

Current Setup -

System: IP500v1
Firmware: R6.0 (8)

Licenses: Advanced Edition,
CS Agent (x20),
CS Supervisor,
Universal PRI (x16),
Mobility Features (x30),
Preferred Edition (VM Pro),
Software Upgrade 2

Need to Add -

Hardware: Voice Compression Module (probably VCM 64).
Licenses: Teleworker or Poweruser on a "per User" basis.

You indeed do need teleworker or power user licenses.
Those mobility features licenses, when are those bought (on what release)

The point is that you cannot have mobility enabled and then also use teleworker or power user.

When a user needs the softphone and mobility then you need to give then a power user license.

Also upgrade to 6.0.18.
It has some bug fixes.

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

Sarcasm, it's only one of the services I offer.

Teleworker or Power User give you the "new" video softphone. And yes - you need a VCM 32 or 64 - and you should upgrade your firmware to 6.0.18

Your current version (6.0.8) had lots of "issues".

They were purchased when we were still running R4.2.

So I need "teleworker" licenses except where mobility is in use, then I need to get "poweruser" licenses.

PS. The prior upgrade to CCR went well. Though they aren't really using CCR to it's potential, yet.

Then you can't use the mobility fetures anymore when you want to use the teleworker profile.

Then you need to use a power user profile.
The mobility licenses can still be used for user without the user profiles.

Or - just get the "old" softphone license - which is basically a Phone Manager Pro license combined with an IP Audio license - however - they may not sell them anymore.
