Check the error code against the listing on the CA Support site, if you have bought the Workgroup Edition and have mistakenly installed the Advanced edition,(I made this mistake also,the CD-ROM contains several products) it will time out after 30 days and give an error message and tell you;
"Arcserve not running,license failure,terminating, Please run the appropriate license program"
What you have to do then is remove arcserve and install the correct edition, run the license program again
