Need some help installing license on a remote CS1000E campus redundant system? Core is at 1 location and 2 SMG located at remote sites?

The issue:
We were provided with 3 KCD files by a former vendor. They were supposed to install, they did not. Instead they just emailed license to me. (won’t go there).
I have remote access to all systems through putty. But am only physically near 1 of the gateways.

A request to access the KRS from Avaya has been placed. I am hoping that can tell me more about the license files. I am wondering if it might be 1 keycode for each location, 1 core, and 2 SMG as a possible answer.

Can anyone tell me how I may upload the file to the remote CS1000E, and other SMG?
I am familiar on how to load license on the old CS1000M, using LD 143, and a floppy.

Thanks for help on this.

As long as you have Compact Flash cards in the backup drives you can FTP the files there. Just FTP to the active call server or SMG use a PDT2 password to login (Admin2 can be used if it has pdt2 access set in LD 17) then:

ftp> cd /cf2
ftp> ls

Check that there is a Directory called keycode if not:

ftp> mkdir keycode
ftp> cd keycode
ftp> pwd

should show you in /cf2/keycode

ftp> bin -> changes transfer type to binary
ftp> put keycode.kcd -> moves the keycode from your PC to CS

Then just log in LD 143
. ksho rmd -> pick your file from the menu

You should see the new keycode confirm that the site ids match and make sure the changes are as you would expect

. knew rmd -> pick your file from the menu

you shouldnt need to Lic an SMG, they are tapped out anyway for 90 failover. on the E knew RMD from 143 someone will have to put the file on an RMD and the RMD in the Call Server.

I have never had to FTP into the compact flash before.

Does this need to be done on the switch or can I just try FTP into the CPPM itself?

Thanks

You FTP to the CPPM active call server (The ELNK Active if you do a "prt elnk" in LD 117)
